this feels illegal - how I automate 80% of my business 🤷‍♀️

Hey Reader ,

You know what’s been absolutely blowing my mind lately?

AI tools.

And I’m not talking about saving a few minutes here and there (though that’s nice too). I’m talking about completing ENTIRE DAYS of work in just a couple of hours 🤯

At the moment, my strategy is easy, simple, and fast.

I take tasks that used to eat up my whole week, like:

  • Analysing reams of customer feedback
  • Creating social posts (a whole month's worth!)
  • Writing blog articles
  • Drafting client emails
  • Summarising weekly meetings

…and I get them done in about 5 hours.

(Here’s what it looks like 👇🏽)

First up: Knowledge AI (AKA your always-on business partner)

Think of this as having the world’s most detail-oriented assistant who never sleeps. They’ll:

  • Analyse feedback from everywhere (I'm talking Trustpilot, Google Reviews, social comments - the works!)
  • Spot patterns you'd totally miss (like how morning customers have completely different complaints than evening ones 😆)
  • Create detailed reports in minutes

The trick? Stop asking AI to “write something.” Ask it to ANALYZE something. That’s where the real magic happens!

For example, instead of "Write a blog post about customer service", try: "Analyse our top 10 customer service articles and tell me:

  • Common themes
  • Missing topics
  • Questions readers still have"

Next up: Generative AI (your creative department)

This is the fun one! It’s like having an entire creative team right at your fingertips.

I use it for:

  1. Email marketing (my open rates jumped XXX% when I started pushing the boundaries of subject line testing!)
  2. Social media content (turns one idea into a month of posts)
  3. Content creation (from boring features to exciting stories)

But here’s the MASSIVE AHA moment that changed everything for me…

Most people are using AI completely backwards! 🤯

They’re trying to get AI to create something from nothing. But that’s like hiring a chef and not giving them any ingredients!

Instead, here’s what I do (and it works like magic):

  1. First, I feed AI information about my business (Think customer reviews, past emails, social comments)
  2. Then, I tell it to analyse patterns (This is where the gold happens!)
  3. Finally, I ask it to create content based on those insights (Now it sounds exactly like me, because it’s using MY words!)

Being able to work this way has made my work life SO much smoother, and I’ve been taking on projects I never thought I could handle alone.

The BIGGEST thing I've learned?

You don't need fancy enterprise AI tools to see massive results. In fact, smaller operations like yours and mine? We have an advantage - we can move faster and experiment more 😊

Here’s my super simple 3-step process:

  1. Pick ONE task that drives you crazy (I started with customer feedback - reviewing 100+ comments frequently was killing me!)
  2. Find ONE AI tool to handle it (I used ChatGPT to analyse comments and create summary reports)
  3. Use the time you saved to learn the next tool (Used my saved 2 hours/day to master email automation)

Want to know the most amazing part?

My old 2-hour morning admin routine? Now takes 20 minutes. Weekly report writing? From 3 hours to 30 minutes.
Social media planning? From 5 hours to 1 hour.

That’s it!

Have you tried using AI tools in your business?

Will you? :)
Margo

PS. I’d love to hear about your experience with AI tools. Just hit reply. I read every email and love to hear from you.

Be a Thought Leader (It's Not What You Thought)

Everyone claims to be a thought leader these days. But here's the truth - most of us are doing it wrong.

Real thought leadership? It's not about your products. It's not about your services. It's about rewiring how people think.

The best thought leaders don't push. They transform. They take complex ideas and turn them into "aha!" moments that stick.

Want proof? Look at the giants. Tesla didn't just sell cars - they changed how we think about transportation. Netflix didn't just stream movies - they revolutionised how we think about entertainment.

Here's the secret: When you upgrade someone's thinking, you've got their attention forever. No hard selling required.

Think about it. Would you rather be another voice shouting "Buy now!" or the quiet genius who just changed someone's world?

Your ideas have power. Use them to light up minds, not just fill shopping carts.

Time to be the leader who actually leads thought.

How to Make Anything Interesting: 5 Sparkly Writing Techniques

"There are more than 200 million insects for every human being living on Planet Earth today. As you sit reading this sentence, between one and 10 quintillion insects are shuffling and crawling and flapping around on the planet, outnumbering the grains of sand on all the world’s beaches."

Ever wonder how some writers make even the most boring topics sparkle? It's not magic - it's method. And here is the secret sauce.

Think about the last time you read something that made you go "wow!" Bet it wasn't just throwing facts at you. No, it painted pictures in your mind. It made you feel something.

Here's the thing - great writing isn't about fancy words or complex sentences. It's about bringing your reader along for the ride. Want to talk about big numbers? Don't just say "1 million." Say "enough people to fill 10 Super Bowls." That's something we can actually imagine.

And stories? They're your secret weapon. Don't just tell me insects are important. Show me how one tiny bee can pollinate 5,000 flowers in a single day. WOW!

Want to really hook your readers? Give them something to taste, touch, and feel. Don't just say "it's hot." Say "it's hot enough to melt your ice cream before you take your first lick."

Your words are like an artist's paintbrush. Use them to splash some color into those gray walls of text.

So next time you're writing - whether it's an email or an epic blog post - remember: specific beats vague, stories beat statistics, and sensory details beat boring facts.

Make those words dance. Your readers will thank you.

SEO in the AI Era: 3 Ways to Adapt Your Strategy (and get AI to mention your brand)

Ever wonder what's really happening to search marketing? Spoiler alert: AI just crashed the party, and it's changing everything.

But here's the thing - it's not just about Google getting smarter. It's about three massive waves hitting us all at once.

First up? Google's AI is getting greedy. Those juicy search snippets? They're keeping more eyeballs on Google and fewer on your website. Ouch. But smart marketers are fighting back, targeting those "I-want-to-visit-a-website" searches instead.

Wave two is the content tsunami. AI writers are flooding the internet. Your move? Create content that AI can't touch - think original research, personal stories, expert interviews. You know, the real human stuff.

And...chatbots are becoming the new Google. People aren't just searching anymore; they're having conversations. Wild, right?

So what's a business to do? Train those AI chatbots to be your biggest fans. Make your content so good, so unique, that even AI has to recommend it.

The game's changing fast. But remember this - while AI is getting smarter, being human is your superpower.

Use it wisely.

Hey Reader, Yesterday I was sitting at my desk checking my LinkedIn engagement data (yes, I'm that person ), and I've discovered something fascinating about what's actually driving leads (not just likes). But first, the biggest realisation of all: Stop writing for everyone. Write for ONE person - the one you really want to work with. Yes, it feels terrifying. Yes, your reach might drop. But when your DM inbox fills with messages from exactly the right people because they self-identified with...

Hey Reader, Quick question: are we all overthinking AI? Last week, I watched a client struggle with their "advanced AI workflow system" (their words, not mine 😅). They had: 36 different prompts in Notion 3 different AI tools running at once A complex "content optimisation" process But you know what? Their best-performing content came from a simple chat with their audience. It got me thinking... Maybe we're making AI way more complicated than it needs to be. (You've seen those "10X YOUR...

Hey Reader, The start of January has me reflecting on something I've been doing that most would raise their eyebrows at. I've been geeking out over AI tools for social selling (and yes, binge-watching Netflix, but that's another story 🤓). And you know what? I've discovered one thing I absolutely refuse to give up in 2024... My obsession with finding ways to get MORE sales with LESS social media time. You know those magical moments? When a single, strategic LinkedIn post brings in three...
